February 23, 2012 BIG NEWS!! The Pennsylvania Federal Court has issued a substantive ruling in our case which, albeit brief, has handed us a significant victory. The judge wrote in her Order that
"The Court share's Plaintiff's view that this case is about [a] constitutionally valid process."
And is not, as the IRS claimed and several tax "experts" have opined, a claim merely seeking a tax exemption or complaining that the IRS has taken too long to make a decision. If you read the Complaint, you'll understand how the story unfolded. We expected it would take 4 - 8 months to receive the tax exempt status, but the additional information the IRS asked for over the course of the spring was a little weird and redundant. So when our corporate lawyer finally was able to get a hold of the IRS agent in charge of our case and the agent explained the reason for the delay was because our organization has to do with Israel...HUH???
The Government responded with a Motion to Dismiss the Complaint, and the brief in support is posted. Our Opposition to the Government's motion was filed in court on 11/22/10 and is posted here.

Interesting that the IRS memo doesn't deny your claim that they give special (negative) treatment to Israel-related organizations.
